How they get there

Feel-good romantic comedy which went a bit wrong - by Spike Jonze whose work include Being John Malcovich.

Watched it at London Film Academy as part of learning about dramatic shots contraction.  Really enjoyed it.

The tutor mentioned an interesting fact about the film:  a car crash stunt was filmed and not used for a feature film, so short film story was written specially to utilise that shot so that it wasn't wasted.

Don't Move

Happy Halloween!  Watched this film at Shorts on Tap night as part of Halloween celebrations.

Warning: unsuitable for young children

Six friends gather for their monthly ‘games night’ and accidentally unleash a demonic force that might tear them and their friendships to pieces.

This short horror film is by Bloody Cuts Horror - it is part of series of low-budget films made by a team of UK film-makers.

The Lunch Date

Watched this film last night and it made me smile the whole day today.  A timeless masterpiece.

As per wikipedia, The Lunch Date is a 1990 American short film directed by Adam Davidson. In 2013 the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

Klangkarussell - Netzwerk (Falls Like Rain)

Press Watch on Vimeo to see the film.

Watched this at a Short&Sweet short films event.  Apparently Sweet&Short were the first to run free short film nights, but they have not been around in London for a while. Let's hope they will resume their regular screenings with a bit of pursuasion from Fliqio who co-hosted the event.

Netzwerk (Falls Like Rain)" is a song by Austrian dance and electronic duo Klangkarussell.

The video was directed by Charlie Robins and filmed in Serbia. The video features Ukrainian daredevil Mustang Wanted.  Stunning film, captivating music and not for people who afraid of heights.

The Carpenter

This film by Greek company Deep Green Sea had a pivotal role in my life - it brought me into film-making.  At the time I watched it first time, I was experimenting with a few hobbies starting from painting and photography, and finishing with upholstery and woodwork.  I watched this film and decided that I want to learn cinematography.  Only a filmmaker is capable to turn an ordinary man doing his job look like a hero!  Stunning graphics and a bit of humour.  Hope you enjoy it too.

The Carpenter is part of ‘Art of Making’ series that aspire to display and highlight certain people, which go against the spirit of today’s pessimism and desperation. Directed / edited / vfx - Dimitris Ladopoulos, Spiros Rasidakis director of photography - Nikos Mexis sound design - Nikos Tsines music - The Three Corners of the Earth, The Fire Shall Devour Us (shot using available light, with Canon 5D+7D, edited in Final Cut Pro X, tracked with PFTrack, composited in After Effects and FilmConverted)

There is still so much to learn!
